******************************** PRELIMINARIES *******************************
Although this version has been tested there is always the possibility
of a bug or two(Murphy's Law :>) ). Version 2.0 is a major re-write
over v1.2 so I suggest you read this documentation. There have only
been 2 releases of 1124RSxx.EXE(v1.2 and v2.0). Since v2.0 is just about
totally re-written, I decided to give it the version of 2.0 instead of
v1.3.
Listed below is some initial program information. Please review it.
1) System Requirements: At least CGA mode
Using LPT1 for your Printer
116k RAM(v2.0)
1- Disk Drive(360,720,Hard Drive etc.)
Pansonic KX-P1124 or Epson LQ-2500 Printer
(others printers may also work, especially Epsons and compatibles)
2) Your printer MUST be in "Program Mode" and "Epson LQ-2500 Mode" and
you must be using LPT1.
3) You use this program at your own risk. No warranties are implied.
The author assumes no liability or responsibility for its performance.
4) This Program, in its unaltered state, will always have a Filename
adhereing to the following format:
1124RSxx.EXE(where xx is the version number)
\____/\/
Filename___/ \This will be the version number
which is version 2.0 for this version
thus this program is named 1124RS20.EXE.
There will be contained within the filename 1124RS20.ZIP
the following 5 files:
1124RS20.EXE - The Program File \ These 3 file MUST be
1124RS20.000 - Supplementary Program File > present in your current
1124RS20.001 - Supplementary Program File / directory or the program
will NOT work!
1124RS20.DOC - Program Documentation
REFCHART.EXE - Prints a MARGIN/PITCH Reference Chart(see N command)
This filename format shall remain in effect hereafter.
5) If you are not familiar with your printer commands it is suggested
that you reference your printer manual prior to selecting a command.
Undesirable results may occur if you are not cognizant of what you
are doing or intend to do. Many commands have certain limitations
and conditions. So if you are unsure of what a command does then
refer to your printer manual.
6) A lot of time and thought have went into this program. If you find
it of value a $2.00 gratutity would be grately appreciated(no checks
please). If you have comments, suggestions or problems feel free
to write to me at:

*************************** PROGRAM OPERATION ********************************
Upon running this program you will be presented with a menu of
printer options. Whats important here is that upon initial boot-up of
this program, your printers default macro(macro #1) will be in effect.
Since the program does not know what your default printer settings are
it might be a bit out of sync. This is NO problem though. You can simply
press the proper command keys to correspond to your printers initial setup.
This step is NOT necessary however, because as you enter commands your
printer will eventually be in sync with the program. Again, this is NOT
a problem. You MUST have your printer on and at LPT1 when running this
program. Failure to do so will result in a device not present error.
This program is very user friendly. After you have used it for just a
short time you will have mastered its operation. I will however list
the commands and tell what most of them do. Most of the commands are
self-explanatory but some need to be reflected upon. As you select
your commands you will notice two things happening:
1) The printer BELL will sound at the execution of each command. This
is the Printer < BELL > Command Execution Verify at work. This
verifies that the respective command was sent and the printer did
indeed receive it. Several commands, like Line Feed, do not sound
the BELL after execution because it will be evident that the printer
did receive and execute the command.
2) The command you selected will turn to light Red on a black background.
This is the Command Execution Visual Display. This gives you a visual
status of your printers current settings.
Some commands are of the ON/OFF type. That is, for instance the "q" command
(Proportional Pitch). If you press the letter "q" it will turn Proportional
Pitch ON, if you press "q" a second time, it will turn it OFF. These will be
discussed in detail later in the COMMANDS section of
